Visitor Safety Checklist

The safety of our Team Members, visitors and contactors is extremely important to us! Please observe the following safety rules for your own protection and for the safety of others.

Security 

• All visitors must check in with Reception before entering the facility. 

• Visitor badges must be worn at all times while on FABRIS Inc. property. 

• Unless otherwise instructed, visitors must be accompanied at all times by their Host.


Personal Protective Equipment 

There are areas throughout the Inc. facility where personal protective equipment is required. Visitors to the Shop Area must follow these guidelines:

• Safety glasses are to be worn at all times. 

• CSA approved steel toed safety footwear is required when walking outside of the designated blue walkways. 

• Appropriate clothing must be worn at all times. 

• Hearing protection is required to be worn while in designated areas of the shop. Earplugs are located throughout the shop area. 

• Approved personal protective equipment may be provided by Reception. 


Emergency Evacuation Procedure 

Emergency Exits are clearly located throughout the Inc. facility. These points of exit are illustrated on maps located at each exit. In the event of an evacuation, you must exit through the closest Emergency Exit and locate your Host at the Evacuation Meeting Point at the North East side of the facility, if you are not already escorted by them. You may not leave the Evacuation Meeting Point until given permission to do so by your Host.

Fire 

Fire extinguishers are clearly located throughout the Inc. facility. This information can be found on the signs posted throughout the facility and located at each exit

If you see a fire: 

• Contact your Host or any Inc. Team Member immediately to report the fire and proceed to the Evacuation Meeting Point at the North East side of the facility.

If you hear the fire alarm: 

• Proceed to the Evacuation Meeting Point at the North East side of the facility.


General Safety

 • Be aware of overhead cranes or forklifts in your area and allow for extra space where necessary.

 • Refer to Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) located at all First Aid stations in the Shop for information on any chemicals used by you or your Host prior to use. 


Medical 

Emergency medical attention required: 

• If you have a cell phone, dial 911 or dial 911 from a land line if one is nearby. Emergency contact numbers are posted by each phone within Inc. Alert someone to notify Reception that you have called 911 and explain the situation. If a phone is not readily available, contact Reception immediately and explain the emergency. 

• Consult any Team Member to notify a FABRIS Inc. Certified First Aider your need for assistance, if required. If you are trained in first-aid, administer where necessary. 

• For medical attention required, first-aid stations are located in several areas throughout the Shop. Please be aware of these locations before entering the Shop by reviewing the maps located at each entrance.


Smoking 

Smoking is not permitted inside the building or around the perimeter of the building. A designated smoking area is available at the rear of the building at the smoking shelter.


Contractor and Visitor Responsibilities 

As a FABRIS Inc. Contractor or Visitor, it is your responsibility to support the FABRIS Health and Safety Management System. 

• Ensure you receive, read and understand the Visitor Safety Information Guide. 

• If you see a hazard, ensure you report the hazard immediately to any Inc. Team Member. 

• If you are performing work within the facility, ensure you are fully certified in accordance with governing legislation/regulations/industry standards to perform the duties required.


Violence and Harassment in the Workplace 

Inc. has a formal Violence and Harassment in the Workplace Policy. If you find yourself in a position to be a victim of violence or harassment, immediately contact the Inc. Human Resources Team Leader in person, by email - hr@f.com or by phone – ****.
